Abstract
This Act places restrictions on the dumping at sea of waste and outside Antiguan waters, provides for licences for dumping at sea and provides for the enforcement of provisions of this Act and Conventions concerning the dumping at sea.
The Act requires a licence for the dumping at sea of substances and articles by any ship, aircraft or marine structure in Antiguan waters or by Antiguan ships outside Antiguan waters and prohibits the loading of substances or articles in Antigua for the dumping at sea. The Minister may declare a Convention relating to dumping at sea to be a designated Convention for purposes of this Act. The Act provides for enforcement in Antigua of the London and Oslo Conventions for the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping from Ships and Aircraft and defines offences in relation with the dumping at sea and the obstruction of enforcement officers.
