Abstract
This Act makes provision for measures in the state of emergency.
A state of emergency may be declared for a maximum period of one month by the Governor-General by Proclamation and shall thereafter be maintained by the House of Representatives if the need arises. The Act defines powers that are assigned to the Cabinet in a state of emergency including the control of food and water supplies. The Act also establishes an Emergency Laws Tribunal.
