Abstract
This Act provides against the cruel treatment of animals. "Animals" includes domestic, captive or wild animals, either birds, beast, fish, reptile or insect (sect. 2). It shall be prohibited to practice any of the treatments of animals specified in section 3. If it is cruel to keep the animal alive the Court may order destruction of the animal and may also deprive the person convicted of the ownership of the animal. Section 7 concerns the destruction of injured or diseased animals ordered by a magistrate, veterinary officer or other government official, or qualified veterinarian. (9 sections)
