Abstract
This Act lays down rules for the provision of special incentives in the areas of the tourism industry and other specified business activities. To this end, this Act sets forth procedures and principles for the application for and granting of special incentives, as well as the provisions on the functions of the Executive Director; terms and conditions of Investment Agreement; monitoring and inspection; dispute settlement; and offences and penalties. Any business activity in the agriculture sector, including the cultivation of aromatic, savory or medicinal plants; the cultivation of flowers, fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants in a garden or an orchard of nursery; freshwater and marine fisheries including aquatic animals and plants; livestock breeding; forestry and mining, is listed in the Schedule 1 - specified business activities. In order to become entitled to special incentives, these business activities should contribute to the national economy and be certified by the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition to that, any business activity that involves the industrial processing of raw material and intermediate products derived from the agricultural sector and is licensed by the Bureau of Standards, as well as veterinary services certified by the Ministry of Health are also listed in the Schedule 1.

This Act shall continue in force for a period of two years from the date of commencement and shall then expire unless its duration is extended by resolution of Parliament.
