Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to promote the conservation of wild birds specified in the schedules A and B. Schedule A lists birds that are absolutely protected and the Schedule B lists birds that are protected during the close season from 1 February to 15 July inclusive of each year. Section 5 lays proof of innocence with persons proceeded against for selling, having in possession, offering for sale, exposition, or exportation of wild birds or eggs. Sections 6 to 11 also contain rules regarding legal proceedings against such persons. The Governor-General may vary seasons and amend the Schedules.
