Instruction no. 16, dated 19 October 2022 on rules for special control measures to prevent the entry and spread within the country of Xylella Fastidiosa (Wells Et Al).

This Instruction here sets rules and measures aimed at preventing the introduction and spread of the quarantine harmful plant pest called Xylella fastidiosa (Wells et al.), within the territory of the Republic of Albania. Host plant in terms of this text is any plant for planting, other than seeds, belonging to genera or species listed in Annex I of this text; specified plant is the host plant for planting, other than seeds, belonging to the genera or species listed in Annex II and known to be susceptible to specific subspecies of specified pests. The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority shall conduct annual surveys and inspections based on risk-based parameters, on known host plants for the detection of specified pests within the territory of the country. Surveys consist of collecting samples and testing plants for planting, also taking into account the guidelines of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
