Abstract
Law 80/2017 amends and supplements Law 64/2012 on fisheries to approximate it with the EC Regulation 1224/2009, EC Regulation 1380/2013, EC Regulation 2015/2102 and EC Decision 2016/1251 regarding establishment of control systems for ensuring compliance with the rules of the common fisheries policy. The changes concern the list of species prohibited to fish, the tasks and responsibilities of the fishery inspection authority, and the operation of control systems including the selection and scope of works of its observers and monitoring agents.
