Abstract
This Law determines the following: 1. Rules for the operation of the quality system of agricultural and food products: a) fair competition for farmers and producers of agricultural and food products with characteristics and indicators of added value of quality; b) the necessary information for the consumer, about the quality of these products; 2. Duties and powers of the bodies responsible for: a) evaluation of applications for the registration of the designation "Traditional specialty guaranteed"; b) verification of compliance with product specifications for registration requirements designations of origin and geographical indications for agricultural and food products; c) verifying the compatibility of registered agricultural and food products, such as STG, EOM and TGJM, with product specifications, before their placement on the market; d) performing official controls to verify the compatibility of agricultural products and registered foodstuffs, such as STG, EOM and TGJM, with the requirements defined in this Law. This Law applies to specified agricultural and food products for human consumption according to the list approved by related order of the Minister. This Law is partially aligned with the provisions contained in the Regulation (EU) No. 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs.
