National Strategy of the water supply sector and sewerage, 2020-2030.

This Albanian National Strategy of the water supply sector and sewerage aimed for the period from the year 2020 until the year 2030 efforts major territorial needs and issues regarding the water service sector among other relevant interactions. In a world that changes more and more every day, the water services Sector and sewage must be a stable and reliable sector. Albanians have already understood how important it is to provide advanced services of water supply and sanitation and integrated water management in relation to development economic. This is why the National Strategy highlights the actions that are needed as those to be undertaken for the purposes of public health and environmental safety, as these are assets of major importance. In implementation of this Strategy, investments in the sector of water and sewerage services can be a helpful tool for rapid economic growth, development of a sustainable use of resources and improving the health of Albanian citizens. Therefore, water is considered an important economic sector for Albania. A Vision Statement is a simple but powerful message that describes the work of the government for the provision of water supply and sewage services as services that are considered as essential and critical to human life. Declaration of this Sectoral Strategy determines the direction where investments will be focused, aiming for the highest quality of services for the period 2020-2030. The Vison states the following: A reliable nationwide system for water supply and sanitation that meet the needs of a developing economy and society in general, by preserve and protect the environment, health and safety of citizens. Mission of the water supply and sewerage sector based on the aspirations of the Albanian government for the implementation of EU directives, reflects the basic purpose of this Strategy. Designing appropriate policies and committing sufficient funds to improve the provision of water supply and sewerage services, and to proceed towards compliance with European Union standards and development objectives.
