Regulation No 147 date 13.3.2018 on the establishment, organization, and functioning of the Regional Agencies of Agricultural Extension.

This Regulation establishes four regional agencies of agricultural extension under the Ministry of Agriculture and incorporated as public legal entities headquartered in Shkoder, Tirane, Lushnje, and Korce. Their mission is to contribute in the development of a competing and sustainable agricultural sector while building long term partnerships with beneficiaries. Their main duties and responsibilities consist in providing extension services to advance technical and technological development of agricultural farms, advising farmers on utilizing national financial supporting instruments, promoting farmers’ cooperation, providing information on environment, product quality, marketing, and organic agriculture standards, participating in development and implementation of agricultural development programs, collecting statistical data, etc.
Regarding governance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and the regional agencies of agricultural extension are the responsible authorities for regulation implementation and enforcement.
