CIS Agreement on exchange of environmental and ecological information.

The cooperation between the Parties shall be carried out in the following fields: (a) dissemination of ecological information; (b) creation of environmental database; (c) exchange of information on transboundary pollution; (d) ecological education; (e) international cooperation and exchange of information with international ecological organizations (art. 1). The Parties have agreed establish Intergovernmental Ecological Information System (art. 2) with the following competence: (a) dissemination of ecological information; (b) early warning and information of environmental disasters and movement of hazardous waste; (c) exchange of information on rare and endangered animals and plants recorded in the Red Books of CIS Member States; (d) publication of CIS annual environmental reports; (e) information on ecofriendly processes and technologies (art. 3).
