Development Program for Autumn Wheat Seed Cultivation, High Reproduction Seed Production for 2012-2017.

Development Program for Autumn Wheat Seed Cultivation, High Reproduction Seed Production for 2012-2017 is a multi-sectoral nationwide policy document aimed at increase of seed breeding and production of high reproduction seeds of autumn wheat. The goal of the Program shall be to increase stability of agri-food sector by increasing the volume of production of agricultural commodities and promoting high reproduction of autumn wheat (super elite) on the national territory. One of the possible factors for obtaining a high, stable crop of autumn wheat is seed cultivation and sorting.
In order to organize production of high reproduction (super elite) wheat seeds, seed breeders and seed producers shall be provided with the necessary agricultural machinery or shall be granted the opportunity to rent machinery, and shall be granted access to financial means.
The data of the national food balance indicates that a number of vegetables and fruits (potatoes, vegetables, melons) have reached the level of self-sufficiency. Yet the priority shall be increase of food wheat production, taking into account the share of food wheat in the food balance, accounting for more than 40 percent.
The Ministry of Agriculture, through Seed Agency, shall sign contracts with the beneficiaries in the implementation of the Program.
