Government Decision No. 1143 validating environmental impact assessment procedure.

This Government Decision establishes that the evaluation and examination processes of the design document and the EIA report of the types of planned activities of category A, B subject to assessment and examination are carried out within the time limits and according to the procedure established by law. In order to obtain clarification regarding the type of planned activity defined by the law or the classification of the type of planned activity subject to EIA (by categories), before the start of the EIA process, the initiator can apply in writing to the authorized body, presenting the general characteristics of the planned activity (location, type, volume) , possible effect). The authorized body informs the applicant in writing of the required within 5 working days from the date of receiving the application. Alternative options, including detailed description of locations, routes, technologies, processes, raw materials, design and construction solutions, environmental and social measures, can also be submitted to the competent authority. In order to justify the choice of the preferred option, an environmental and socio-economic comparative analysis of the preferred option of the planned activity and alternative options is carried out.
