Abstract
Agricultural Development Strategy for the period of 2010-2020 is a multi-sectoral nationwide policy document aimed at agricultural and rural development with a view of ensuring favourable conditions for agricultural production, development of rural infrastructure, introduction of new technologies and good practices, promotion of extension services and export orientation of agricultural production.
The scope of Agricultural Development Strategy for the period of 2010-2020 is to overcome financial and economic crisis in agriculture, deepening of agrarian reforms and promotion of agricultural cooperatives.
The Government shall perform the following arrangements with a view of overcoming financial and economic crisis in agriculture and achieving the goal: (a) crediting of competitive export-oriented companies; (b) provision of state guarantees and technical assistance to winemaking and fruit and vegetable growing sector; (c) contributions to pedigree livestock farming; and (d) diversification of agricultural sector.
The objectives of Agricultural Development Strategy for the period of 2010-2020 shall be as follows: (a) improvement of land reclamation; (b) improvement of pastureland irrigation; (c) prevention of damages to agricultural crops; (d) soil erosion control; (e) promotion of family farming integrated with infrastructure; (f) increase of gross output of agricultural commodities through labour productivity; (g) processing of significant part of agricultural raw materials by small and medium enterprises in rural communities; (h) reduction of poverty and migration; and (i) high level of food security for the population by increasing agricultural commodities and raising affordability and accessibility of foodstuffs to the population.
