Implementation of Development Program for Local Seed Breeding and Seed Production of Some Grain Crops and Grain Legumes for years 2018-2019.

Development Program for Local Seed Breeding and Seed Production of Some Grain Crops and Grain Legumes for years 2018-2019 is a nationwide multi-sectoral policy document containing a set of measures aimed at ensuring the implementation of the Concept of Agricultural Subsidy Directions in Armenia. The overall aim of this Development program is to strengthen the production capacity of seed producing companies.
In particular, the Program envisages subsidizing of bread grain (wheat granular flour), buckwheat, peas and lentils of local production and local seed breeding enterprises.
Expected results shall be aimed at self-sufficiency in seed breeding and seed production, increase of local seed and plant varieties and raising income of peasant farms, village cooperatives. The Program envisages also preferential terms of crediting for business entities producing and breeding seeds at reduced interest rates.
