Order No. 224-N of the Minister of Agriculture validating the Regulation on forest seed production and forest nurseries.

Regulation on forest seed production and forest nurseries establishes that forest seed nurseries shall be constituted for the management of the forest seed nurseries. The forest seed database includes: positive trees, positive plantings, specially planted forests with a number of economically valuable features (height, trunk diameter, etc.) of forest species. Seedling plantations of forest species planted with seedlings obtained from elite seeds shall be authorized for planting by the director of forest seed nursery. Mixing of seeds of different origins and different quality is prohibited. The director of the forest seed nursery controls the main and, if necessary, other forest nurseries on the fertility of shrubs. The amount of procurement of forest seeds shall be determined on the basis of forest management plans. Prior to collecting seeds, the director of the forest seed nursery carries out: (a) familiarization of employees with procurement of seeds, fruits, cones, primary processing thereof; (b) conservation of cones, fruits, organization of seed collection points, and, if necessary, temporary warehouses; and (c) disinfection of warehouses, containers, equipment.
