Order No. 74-N of the Minister of Environment validating the Procedure for implementing afforestation and reforestation.

Forest afforestation and reforestation measures are aimed at preventing the degradation of forest ecosystems damaged by the impact of negative factors, restoring forest resources in previously forested areas that have been burned, cut down, and deforested for other reasons, increasing forest productivity, as well as preserving forest biodiversity, expanding natural regrowth and forested areas, and ensuring optimal forest cover. Afforestation and reforestation works include: (a) study and research of selected areas; (b) land preparation works; (c) creation of forest species through planting; (d) creation of forest species through sowing; (e) forest species replenishment works; (f) agrotechnical works; (f) irrigation works for forest crops (as needed); (g) fight against field mice (as needed); (h) evaluation of the results of the events; and (i) development of a forest restoration and afforestation program.
