Decree No. 79/08 establishing rules for the preparation and distribution of salt for human and animal consumption.

The purpose of this Decree is to establish the rules on the preparation and distribution of salt for human and animal consumption. The decree applies throughout national territory and concerns all salt used for human and animal consumption, from its extraction, packaging, storage, acquisition, transportation and sale. Salt for industrial use is not subject to the rules laid down in this Decree, except for the provisions of paragraph 3 of this article. The referred iodization of salt extends to industrial activities aimed at preparing products for human or animal consumption.
