Executive Decree No. 185/14 approving the Regulation of the National Direction for Petrochemical and Biofuels Refining.

This Executive Decree, approves the Regulation of the National Direction for Petrochemical and Biofuels Refining. This Regulation, consisting of 4 Chapters and 2 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Direction, entitled to: a) promote and collaborate for the designing of necessary policies on petroleum refining, petrochemical, production and use of biofuels and lubricants; b) monitor and control the activities related to these sectors; c) propose and collaborate on the designing of norms, regulations and technical specifications related to these sectors; d) carry out research for the establishment and development of the petrochemical industry and use of biofuels in the country; e) propose and follow up in coordination with the Cabinet of Inspection the implementation of policies leading to the establishment of strategic security stocks of oil products and biofuels; f) establish strategies for the development and production of oil price; g) propose and monitor the implementation of the general plan of development and production of petroleum products and biofuels; h) assist in advising on projects related to the distribution, storage, industrial processing and transportation of fuels and lubricants; etc.
