Executive Decree No. 247/18 approving the Regulation of the Aquatic Resources Integrated Management Council of the Ministry of Fisheries and the Sea.

This Executive Decree approves the Regulation of the Aquatic Resources Integrated Management Council of the Ministry of Fisheries and the Sea. This Regulation, consisting of 21 articles divided into four Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Council. The Council is responsible for: Being informed or giving its opinion on recommendations of the Technical and Scientific Council; Give advice on the following issues: Inter-sectoral measures for Fishing Sector development; Draft of legislation relating to the aquatic environment and the sustainable use of aquatic biological resources; Strategies and results for monitoring and enforcing measures for the protection of the aquatic resources; Designing of inter-sectoral information, social awareness actions and programmes in the framework of the organization of civic education campaigns as well as the recognition and protection of grassroots communities in environmental matters and aquatic ecosystems; Inter-sectoral strategies resulting from national and international cooperation in the field of aquatic resources; Inter-sectoral measures to ensure that scientific research studies on the aquatic environment and the sustainable exploitation of aquatic resources and salt are carried out; Transfer of technologies, their use, dissemination and incentive for the fishing industry; Adoption of the hygiene and sanitary standards for the production, processing and marketing of fishery, aquaculture and salt products.
