Executive Decree No. 351/25 approvng the Internal Regulations of the National Directorate of Public Health.

This Executive Decree establishes the rules for the organisation and operation of the National Public Health Directorate (DNSP). The DNSP is the direct executive service, entitled to regulate and coordinate all activites related to health, disease prevention, control and surveillance, treatment and rehabilitation at the first level of care. In particular, DNSP is responsible for: Supporting the preparation and execution of the National Health Development Plan; Drawing up and publicising standards and technical guidelines related to health; Regulating the operation of the National Health System at municipal level; Drawing up and promoting the implementation of public health programmes; Implementing the National Health Policy; Coordinating and implementing planning, registration, supervision and evaluation instruments for public health programmes and monitoring environmental sector; Overseeing the system for the Prevention and Audit of Maternal, Neonatal and Infant Deaths; Promoting health, prevent and control diseases, particularly among the most vulnerable population groups; Developing the epidemiological surveillance system for diseases and public health events; Implementing the National Health Regulations; Managing public health emergencies, outbreaks and epidemics, by monitoring environmental contaminants in water, air and soil, as well as risks arising from natural disasters and accidents involving dangerous products, etc.
