Abstract
This Law, consisting of 314 articles divided ino fourteen Chapters, approves the General Labour Basic Law. It applies to all workers who, in the territory of the Republic of Angola, perform a paid work on behalf of an employer, within the organization and under his authority and direction such as in public, mixed, private companies, agricultural cooperatives, social organizations, international organizations and in diplomatic and consular representations, foreigners hired in the country at the service of national employers. In addition, it applies to rural labour contract regime, extended by regulatory decree to workers in other activities, closely linked to agriculture, agro-forestry, livestock, and fisheries, provided that the exercise of such activities is dependent on climatic conditions or seasonal nature. Working women are guaranteed equal treatment of men and non-discrimination at work. They are guaranteed: Access to any job or profession; Equal opportunities and treatment in access to training and professional development actions; The right to equal pay for equal work or work of equal value; During pregnancy and after childbirth, working women have special rights without decreasing their wages, etc.
