Law No. 8/24 combating Illegal Mining Activity.

The purpose of this Law is to hold criminally liable agents who engage in illegal mining activity in relation to strategic minerals, as defined in the legislation in force, and to establish the system for the confiscation and appropriation in favour of the State of the goods, instruments, products and advantages of the crime. This Law applies to: a) Illegal mining activity carried out on national territory; b) Natural and legal persons who commit, aid or conceal acts that constitute offences provided for and punishable in this Law. Chapter 2 lays down related crimes, offences and penalties.
