Abstract
This Ministerial Order creates the Advisory Committee on Imports (CCI) as a temporary advisory body to support the Government in the management of import regulations. Its main objective is to ensure the active and coordinated involvement of public institutions responsible for industry, commerce, agriculture, fisheries, finance, and taxation in implementing rules governing products subject to temporary quantitative import restrictions. The Committee is designed to provide technical assistance and advisory support in defining procedures that ensure effective application of these regulatory measures. More specifically, the Order seeks to improve the efficiency, transparency, and governance of the import control system by assigning the Committee functions such as issuing opinions on import requests, proposing rules and procedures for restricted products, recommending lists of controlled goods, and reviewing or adjusting restriction measures. It also aims to strengthen interinstitutional coordination, support evidence-based decision-making, and ensure compliance with applicable rules, including the possibility of proposing administrative sanctions for violations.
