Abstract
This Presidential Decree establishes the Regulation for the exercise of hunting activities, as well as the management and sustainable use of wildlife resources in their ecosystems, taking into account the environmental, economic, social and cultural dimensions. It is applicable to public and private entities that carry out activities of protection, conservation, research, use, exploration, settlement, repopulation, transit, transformation and commercialization of wildlife resources and other forms of use that the evolution of science and technology may indicate as such. Hunting is regulated for the following activities: a) Subsistence and Community Hunting — carried out by communities on rural lands for food, medicinal and cultural purposes; b) Specialized Hunting — carried out for commercial purposes or to regulate the animal population to supply meat to populations, or even to defend people and property; c) Sport Hunting — carried out for non-commercial purposes; d) Hunting for Scientific Purposes — carried out by academic and research institutions, national or foreign, public and private, or by individuals, for the purposes of scientific studies.
