Presidential Decree No. 227/20 approving the Integrated Plan for the Improvement of Family Farming and Fisheries 2020/2022 (PIAAPF-2020/2022).

This Presidential Decree approves the Integrated Plan for the Improvement of Family Farming and Fisheries 2020/2022 (PIAAPF-2020/2022). This Plan aims to mitigate the socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 and the dependence on oil. It promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, ensuring food and nutrition security and increasing food national production, as well as investments in value chains. In addition, it regulates institutional task force, strategic guidelines, methodology, goals to be observed by the production area, critical success factors, framework of the action plan, technical assistance for the promotion of agricultural production, livestock, fisheries, exploitation of forest resources, logistical support and financing. Its general objective is to increase productivity and agro-livestock production of forestry family products, fishing and aquaculture at the artisanal level oriented to the market; Increase rural employment, higher household income and consequent economic growth; Improvement of food and nutrition security, allowing export diversification and import substitution and economic growth. Its specific objectives are: Assist the evolution and acceleration of family farming and fishing, with a focus on meeting the needs of family producers; Promote the strengthening of relations between actors in the agricultural and fishing production chains; Provide technical and financial training to family producers; Improve infrastructures to support family farming and fishing.
