Presidential Decree No. 253/20 approving the National Policy for Traditional and Alternative Medicine.

This Presidential Decree approves the National Policy for Traditional and Alternative Medicine. The Policy aims at developing the practices of traditional and alternative medicine in the national health system in order to contribute to obtaining better results in health, optimizing and consolidating its role, ensuring care with efficacy, safety and quality for the entire population. It is an instrument that should be used to ensure the safe and sustainable practice of traditional and alternative medicine based on its own regulation and does not encourage conventional research, technological development and in particular in the area of biotechnology, valuing and protecting the traditional knowledge of the local populations.
