Presidential Decree No. 264/18 approving the Statute of the Luéngue Luiana National Park Management Service.

This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the Luéngue Luiana National Park Management Service. The Statute, consisting of 15 articles divided into four Chapters and four Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Service, entitled to perform the following activities: Protect the ecological integrity of ecosystems, biotic community, genetic resources and species; Protect and maintain the natural state of the areas affected by the Park, preserving its environmental, scientific, cultural, historical, geological or archaeological value of the natural heritage of recognized national importance; Protect wild fauna, spontaneous vegetation and other environmental components in order to guarantee the present and future generations the possibility of knowing and enjoying representative examples of ecosystems, biotic communities and biological diversity in general; Promote the development of ecological tourism, contributing to the improvement of the conditions of the local community; Preserve animal and plant species and their natural habitats, because of their scientific value or danger of extinction; Recover animal and plant populations and their habitats; Preserve habitats of migratory fauna; Provide opportunity for scientific research and environmental education of the general public; etc.
