Abstract
This Presidential Decree approves the Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Maritime Affairs between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Portugal, signed in Lisbon on 20 May 2019. The purpose of this Memorandum is to define the principles, which aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of legislation, training, technical-scientific research, maritime, continental and aquaculture fishing activities, inspection and control of fishing activities and the processing industry of fishery products between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Portugal. The Signatories decide to strengthen relations, cooperation actions and exchange of legislation in the field of fisheries, aquaculture and maritime affairs, in accordance with the policies and legal system of their respective State. The Signatories decide to pay special attention to the training of their staff with the implementation of common training and improvement programmes in fisheries, aquaculture and inspection. For this purpose, specific actions will be implemented (specified in the text).

Entry into force notes
This Memorandum takes effect from the date on which the Portuguese Signatory receives from the Angolan Signatory the written notification informing on the fulfillment of the internal legal formalities for this purpose for a period of 5 years, tacitly renewable for equal and successive periods.
