Abstract
This Resolution, considering that the Government of the Republic of Angola, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, has the duty to take the necessary measures to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, in line with the Convention on Biological Diversity aims to ratify the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, adopted by the 21st Session of the Conference of the FAO of the United Nations on 3 November 2001. The Treaty aims at the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits resulting from their use in harmony with the Convention on Biological Diversity, in favour of sustainable agriculture and food security.
