Abstract
This Resolution approves, for the Accession of the Republic of Angola, the Agreement for the Establishment of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), signed in Lagos on 7 May 2007. The States and International Organizations Parties to this Agreement establish an international financial institution to be known as the Africa Finance Corporation which shall operate in accordance with the provisions of the Charter annexed to this Agreement. This Charter, which may be amended from time to time in accordance with its provisions, shall derive its legal force from this Agreement and shall be valid and operative among all shareholders of the Corporation. Capitalized terms used herein, unless defined in this Agreement, shall have the respective meanings assigned to them in the Charter. The Corporation was established to promote the economic growth and industrial development of African countries, collectively and individually, and more specifically to: a) Support and promote the development of infrastructure in Africa by providing investment funds to contribute to the development of industries in Africa.
