Abstract
This Agreement contains twelve articles establishing institutional procedures for the organization of cooperation between the Federal Government and the three regions of Carinthia, Salzburg and the Tyrol for the protection of the Hohe Tauern National Park. It sets up a Park Council, stipulating its composition and powers. The Council has an elected chairman, administrative directors and an executive Secretariat, and its main purpose is to represent the Park, coordinate planning for the Park and guarantee its harmonious development. The Agreement also lays down the procedures for decision-making by the members of the Council and procedures for the accession of other regions which do not yet belong to the zone covered by the Park.
