Abstract
This Ordinance allows, by way of exception to the general prohibition under the Veterinary Medicines Control Act (TAKG), the use of specified vaccines by veterinarians in cases of therapeutic emergency in order to safeguard animal health. It establishes detailed notification and documentation obligations for such vaccinations, including identification of vaccinated animals, dates of administration and registration in the electronic veterinary information system where applicable. It further requires veterinarians to report non-standard vaccinations to the competent authority with information on the veterinarian, animal holder, number of animals, purpose of vaccination and whether it is an initial or booster treatment.
