Abstract
This state law is regulating the placing on the market, installation, operation, and inspection of heating systems and combined heat and power plants. Its main goals are to reduce harmful air pollutants and promote energy efficiency. The law outlines technical, safety, and environmental requirements for heating appliances, sets emission and efficiency standards, and mandates conformity assessments aligned with EU directives, including the Ecodesign and Energy Labeling Directives. It includes rules for CE marking (Conformité Européenne), operator responsibilities, and inspection duties (e.g. by chimney sweeps), and emphasizes sustainable fuel use, including biomass and biogenic fuels.
