Abstract
The aim of this Codex is to regulate in detail the production and marketing of edible fats and edible oils to ensure the quality of these products. The various kinds of oils and fats are defined at the outset; their preparation and marketing is dealt with in detail. Part 2 contains regulations on margarine products and other fat products, such as fat spreads. The production of spreadable cheese is dealt with in Part 3. Finally, assessment standards are listed, and matters such as damage to health, adulteration and falsification are regulated.
