Abstract
An Ordinance to establish sanitary provisions relating to the production, treatment, storage and transport of meat. Only inspected meat may be processed. The general requirements for meat processing plants are contained in Annex A; Annex B establishes special provisions for meat products. A strict veterinary control is prescribed; the wrapping and packing is also laid down in details. For example, wrapping material cannot be reused and packing has to be carried out in the production room. Moreover, meat must bear a clear marking with the expiry date, quality, ingredients, etc. Annex C contains specific provisions for products of animal origin. The Ordinance consists of 13 articles divided into 6 Parts and 3 Annexes.
