Ordinance on Protecting Vineyards from Damage Caused by Starlings.

This Ordinance permits selective shooting of starlings to prevent significant damage to vineyards. This measure is allowed only in the immediate vicinity of vineyard areas and must involve only targeted shooting of individual birds necessary to scare off entire flocks. The use of explosives or semi-automatic/automatic weapons with magazines holding more than two rounds is prohibited. These actions are restricted to daylight hours, from dawn to dusk. The shooting of starlings is prohibited during their breeding and rearing season. Municipalities may authorize deterrent measures, including selective shooting, only between July 15 and October 31 in the years 2023 and 2024. These measures can be carried out by authorized hunters, game wardens, or—if approved by the hunters—field protection officers with proper firearm licenses. The text consists of 6 Articles.
