Ordinance by the Viennese government on the protection of animals in slaughterhouses.

An Ordinance to protect animals in slaughterhouses. It consists of 18 articles and 3 Annexes. The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed, such as "slaughterhouses", "killing", "slaughtering", etc. Article 3 contains general guidelines to be applied to slaughtering procedures. Then the Ordinance deals with issues such as special provisions for animals not transported in special containers, special provisions for animals transported in special containers, general provisions for the killing of animals and, finally, procedures for slaughtering.
