Abstract
This Ordinance of the Federal Minister for Sustainability and Tourism on Plant Protection introduces measures with regard to packaging timber, and specified types of goods originating in certain third countries that shall be subject to control. These measures are supplementary to those of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1137 on the supervision, plant health checks and measures to be taken on wood packaging material for the transport of commodities originating in certain third countries. Shipments are to be inspected in accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Plant Protection Act 2011 if they contain good specified in the Annex to this ordinance originating in China or Belarus and during transport wood packaging material as specified in International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15 is used. Duties of importers are defined in respect to the collaboration with customs authorities. If material is not conform ISPM No. 15, the customs authorities can take measures as specified in section 30 of the Plant Protection Act 2011.
