Abstract
The present Act introduces some major amendments to the Radiation Protection Act (BGBl. No. 227/1969). The Act implements amongst others Council Directive 2003/122/Euratom on the control of high-activity sealed radioactive sources and orphan sources. It also introduces new requirements on the import, export and transfer of radioactive substances. Another newly introduced section deals with the information of the public with regard to exposure to radon.
