Abstract
The regulation addresses invasive non-native mammals and birds in the Styrian State Government. It applies to species listed as invasive of Union-wide concern under EU Regulation No. 1143/2014 or those declared invasive animals of significance for Austria. The regulation mandates that authorized hunters or designated persons must kill or humanely trap such invasive mammals and birds found within their hunting areas, while complying with local hunting laws. They must report any killings or found dead invasive animals annually by the end of February to the district hunting masters, who then forward aggregated data annually by the end of April to the governmental unit responsible for hunting and forestry for mapping the species' distribution. Additionally, the regulation prohibits feeding these invasive mammals and birds by any person, including authorized hunters, overriding other permitted feeding activities under hunting law.
