Abstract
The present Ordinance enforces article 28 of the Salzburg Animal Breeding Law 2009. The purpose of the present Ordinance is to: 1) conserve and improve the performance of animals with a view to animal health and animal protection; 2) improve the efficiency and competitiveness of animal production with a view to sustainability; 3) ensure that animal products comply with quality requirements; 4) conserve the genetic variety. The Ordinance applies to the breeding of cattle, swine, sheep, goats and equine animals. The text consists of 40 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Authorization of breeding organizations (2); Activities of breeding organizations (3); Semen and transfer of embryos (4); Final provisions (5). Five Annexes are enclosed.
