Abstract
This Ordinance implements the Federal Seeds Act (BGBl. I No. 72/1997). It, among other things, lists the competent authorities to which requests for authorization to plant certain kinds of seeds are to be addressed. The Ordinance consists of 18 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Legal entities (2); Authorizations (3); Final provisions (4). The Ordinance is completed by one Annex based on articles 2 and 4 (seed categories). In addition to the provisions of this Ordinance and other provisions adopted pursuant to the the Act of 1997 EU legislation specified in article 2 of this Ordinance shall apply. The Ordinance also concerns admission of genetically modified seeds.
