Abstract
The Ordinance contains at the outset a clause indicating its scope of application, as well as a definition clause relating to the various terms therein employed, such as "swine fever", "diseased animals", etc. Once the disease is ascertained in a certain place, all animals are to be destroyed under official supervision. The plants have to be disinfected according to EU-guidelines. Around an infected area a radius of 10 km has to be declared as protected zone. Slaughterhouses within the area have to be surveyed closely. The Ordinance consists of 10 articles divided into 6 Parts and 1 Annex.
