Abstract
The Tirol Biomass Promotion Act (TBFG) 2019 aims to support electricity generation from existing renewable energy plants based on solid biomass and high-biogenic-content waste in Tirol, whose previous subsidies expired between 2017 and 2019. The law promotes climate protection and energy security by setting eligibility criteria, technical requirements, and obligations for plant operators, grid operators, and electricity suppliers. It establishes rules for forming biomass balancing groups, regulates electricity purchase and remuneration for up to 36 months, and specifies feed-in tariffs. Funding is secured through surcharges on end users’ electricity bills. The text consists of 17 Articles.
