Abstract
The Act contains at the outset a definition clause containing various terms therein employed, such as, "breeding animal", "breeding organization", "breeding register", "sperm bank", "embryo", etc. Part 3 deals with breeding animals, sperm banks and embryos. The various insemination methods, the use of embryos, the assessment of breeding value and the publication of the findings are described in Part 4. Then the Act sets out the requirements for breeding organizations, their official recognition and their legal status. Finally, the importation of sperm, veterinary control and the transfer of embryos is treated. The Viennese Chamber of Agriculture is responsible for the enforcement of this Act. The text consists of 49 articles divided into 9 Parts.
