Abstract
The present Law implements the Directive 2004/35/CE of the European Parliament and of the Council on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying of environmental damage of 21 April 2004. In particular, the purpose of the Law - on the basis of the polluter pays principle - is to create measures to prevent and remediate environmental damage. The Law applies to protected species and natural habitats and to any imminent threat of such damage caused by: 1) activities listed in Annex 1; 2) other professional activities if the operator has acted intentionally or negligently.
