Abstract
The Act governs grape cultivation in Vienna, aiming to support high-quality wine production, preserve viticulture as a cultural asset, and ensure compliance with EU regulations. It defines suitable vineyard areas, sets rules for vineyard size and classification, and mandates that vineyards be properly cultivated and registered in an official cadastre. Vineyard operators must report plantings, removals, and operational changes, and follow rules on approved grape varieties, planting permissions, and replanting obligations. The law introduces a formal approval process for new vineyards and replantings, with exemptions for small-scale personal-use plots. It includes specific rules for research plantings, data reporting, confidentiality, and administrative penalties for non-compliance. Oversight is provided by the municipal authority, supported by the Agricultural Chamber and national wine inspection agencies. The text consists of 18 Articls.
