Abstract
The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transposte into Austrian law the Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes of 22 September 2010. Furthermore, the Ordinance enforces the Vivisection Act 2012 (BGBl. I No. 114/2012). In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to establishment of a set of criteria for the objectification of the harm-benefit analysis of animal experiments. The text consists of 6 articles and 1 Annex.
