Abstract
The aim of the present Ordinance is to prevent the spread of avian influenza from wild birds to poultry or other captive birds as well as the contamination of products thereof. To this end, it establishes protection measures to be applied in cases where highly pathogenic avian influenza is isolated in wild birds in the territory of Austria. Such protection measures include the establishment of protection and surveillance zones. The text consists of 9 articles and 3 Annexes.
